Ministry of Trade conducts stationery inspection in Istanbul

Teams from the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Trade and the Customs and Foreign Trade Regional Directorate, both affiliated with the Ministry of Trade, conducted stationery inspections. With the start of school just around the corner, the inspections, which were conducted simultaneously in several provinces, also included a stationery store in the Sultangazi district of Istanbul. The inspections examined items such as pencils, erasers, notebooks, paints, and bags on the stationery shelves. The teams compared barcodes, labels, and cash register prices to identify potential price differences. They also checked the products for compliance with safety standards.
Teams inspected each product and warned business owners to comply with the regulations. It was learned that the officers would continue their inspections. Business owner Hatice Ölgün expressed her satisfaction with the inspections, saying, "I think the continuity of these inspections is crucial. They need to be conducted regularly, both for the public and for us, to prevent unfair competition. You all have children. We all want to buy quality at a reasonable price. Therefore, more inspections are needed. Prices were checked for unfair competition, such as comparing the price of the product received with the price of the product sold. We also checked the dates of the products and the price differences between them."
