Minister Işıkhan evaluated the July labor force statistics

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan said, "The unemployment rate, which has remained in single-digit levels for 27 months, is in line with the Medium Term Program (MTP) and our other policies. The number of employed people increased by 18,000 people in the same period, reaching 32,582,000 people." Işıkhan shared the labor force statistics for July on his NSosyal account. Stating that they continue their work within the scope of the Medium Term Program (MTP) and the National Employment Strategy (UİS), which include measures to effectively combat unemployment and strengthen working life, Işıkhan said: "According to the labor force data announced today; the number of unemployed decreased by 164 thousand people in July 2025 compared to the previous month, reaching 2,828,000 people. The unemployment rate decreased by 0.4 points compared to the previous month and by 0.9 points compared to the same period last year, reaching 8 percent. The unemployment rate, which has been in single-digit levels for 27 months, is in line with the MTP and our other policies. The number of employed people increased by 18 thousand people in the same period, reaching 32,582,000 people. The employment rate maintained its level of 49.1 percent." Stating that they continue to see positive results from the programs they support young people in all areas, Işıkhan said, Işıkhan noted that the youth unemployment rate decreased by 0.9 points compared to the previous month and by 1.9 points compared to the same period last year, reaching 15 percent. He added, "We will continue to contribute to the growth of our country by producing, working, and increasing employment opportunities."
