Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) releases free transportation and event announcement

According to a statement from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Victory Day celebrations will be held on Saturday, August 30th, in Bakırköy's Cumhuriyet Square. The program will begin with a performance by the IMM band, followed by a speech by IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan. The events will conclude with a concert by renowned artist Ceylan Ertem.
24 HOURS FREE
As part of the celebrations, public transportation vehicles such as buses, metrobuses, subways, trams, and ferries will be available free of charge 24 hours a day. Personalized Istanbulkart holders will be able to take advantage of this free service.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Department of Culture has also prepared a special program throughout the city for Victory Day. Talks, concerts, excursions, children's workshops, and various museum events will be held at heritage sites. Istanbul Bookstore will also offer a 20% discount on selected books at its Eminönü and Beylikdüzü branches from August 22nd to 31st.
The celebrations will also be reflected in the sports arena. The "August 30 TAYK BMW Borusan Otomotiv Victory Cup Yacht Race," organized under the coordination of İSPARK's ISTMARİN subsidiary, will bring together sailing enthusiasts on the Bosphorus.
FREE EVENTS
Specially for Victory Day, the Basilica Cistern, Şerefiye Cistern, Panorama 1453 History Museum, Digital Experience Center, and Miniatürk, all affiliated with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Culture Inc., will be open to visitors free of charge between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on August 30. Those wishing to take advantage of this one-day opportunity will need to present their QR code from the Radar Turkey app and their ID at the museum entrance.
