What is the insurance rate for earthquakes in Balıkesir? Statement from the Turkish Health Insurance Institute (TSB)

The Insurance Association of Türkiye (TSB) reported that 240,752 of the 377,000 houses in Balıkesir have DASK policies, and the DASK insurance rate is 63.9 percent.

Following the earthquake in Balıkesir's Sındırgı district, the TSB released a statement on its social media accounts, saying, "The tremor felt in many of our provinces, especially in Istanbul, Bursa, and Izmir, has once again painfully reminded us of the earthquake reality of our country."

According to our analysis of DASK and SBM data, there are a total of 377,000 residences in Balıkesir. 240,752 of these residences have DASK policies. The DASK insurance rate is 63.9 percent. The rate of fire insurance, which includes earthquake coverage, is quite low. 73,317 residences have fire policies, and the insurance rate is 19.4 percent.

There are 7,522 commercial policies and 1,642 industrial policies. In Sındırgı, there are a total of 992 fire policies: 793 residential, 147 commercial, and 52 industrial.
