Natural gas imports increased by 36.9 percent in June

According to the "Natural Gas Market Sector Report" published by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) for June, 2.79 billion cubic meters of imports were made through pipelines and 377 million cubic meters through liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.
Total natural gas imports increased by 36.9 percent in June compared to the same month last year, reaching 3 billion 168 million cubic meters.
Azerbaijan imported the most pipeline gas in June, reaching 1.019 billion cubic meters. This was followed by Russia with 970 million cubic meters, Iran with 697 million cubic meters, and Turkmenistan with 103 million cubic meters.
During this period, 277 million cubic meters of LNG were imported from Algeria and 99 million cubic meters from the United States.
Residential gas consumption increased by 8.5 percentTotal natural gas consumption in the country decreased by 0.6 percent in June compared to the same month last year, reaching 2 billion 705 million cubic meters.
Residential natural gas consumption increased by 8.5 percent compared to June 2024, reaching 516 million cubic meters. Industrial natural gas consumption increased by 8.3 percent, reaching 987 million cubic meters.
Natural gas consumption in power plants decreased by 16.3 percent to 674 million cubic meters.
Türkiye's natural gas stocks reached 3 billion 766 million cubic meters in June, an increase of 9.3 percent compared to the same month last year.
Approximately 3 billion 486 million cubic meters of natural gas stock is located in underground storage facilities and 279 million cubic meters in LNG terminals.
