Anitta says she's in favor of taxing the super-rich: 'I don't see a problem if I have to pay more'

Summary: Anitta defended taxing the super-rich at the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, stating that the wealthiest polluters are the biggest contributors to pollution and that she would be willing to pay higher taxes, emphasizing her responsibility as a citizen.
Anitta defended taxing the super-rich while speaking to journalists on the green carpet at the Earthshot Prize ceremony , held at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday night, the 5th. According to the singer, those who pollute the environment the most are 'those who have the most money'.
When asked if fame had instilled in her a greater sense of responsibility for environmental preservation, Anitta stated that she had adopted a more sustainable lifestyle over the years and reflected on her own role after her economic rise.
"Everyone doing their part according to their reality, I think it makes a huge difference, especially for those who have more, because usually those who pollute the most are those who have more money. The percentage of responsibility of the poor population is very small compared to rich people, so this should come first from the rich people," said the singer.
Anitta also emphasized that she sees no problem in 'paying more taxes' and that 'what the government does with the money' is not her responsibility.
"What the government does with the money is not my responsibility. My responsibility as a citizen is to pay taxes, and I am totally in favor of that. I see no problem whatsoever if I have to pay more taxes," she stated.
In addition to Anitta, the Earthshot Prize will feature other distinguished guests, celebrities, artists, and authorities. Among them will be singers Gilberto Gil, Seu Jorge, and Shawn Mendes, athletes Rebeca Andrade and Sebastian Vettel, and indigenous activist Txai Suruí. The event will be hosted by Luciano Huck.
