Giorgia Meloni has been Prime Minister of Italy for 1,000 days. She combines popularity with political stability.

It has been 1,000 days since Giorgia Meloni, leader of the nationalist party Fratelli d'Italia (Italian Brothers - National Alliance), became the head of the Italian coalition government after winning the 2022 elections.
The coalition has been composed of the League, led by Matteo Salvini, and Forza Italia, founded by former Prime Minister Sylvio Berlusconi, for three years.
Despite the passage of time, polls examining political attitudes show that he enjoys popularity and trust among 34-46 percent of Italians. Many declare they hold different political views but praise the stability and foreign policy pursued by the government.
During the ongoing aggression of Russian troops against Ukraine, Giorgia Meloni skillfully works to strengthen Italy's position in the European Union and NATO.
A unique phenomenon is her private relationship with US President Donald Trump, who invited her, as the only EU politician, to his January swearing-in ceremony.
Italy, under Meloni's leadership, has reduced unemployment to 6%, its lowest level in 20 years. The budget deficit has been reduced, and government bonds are once again attracting investor interest.
The head of government herself admits that the biggest problems are still high debt, lack of economic competitiveness, dependence on tourism revenues, an inefficient education system and too low spending on scientific research.
