Career opportunities, continuing education programs, and economic stability are crucial factors in choosing an employer, especially in uncertain times. But which companies are best positioned in the battle for skilled workers?

LinkedIn investigated this question in more detail and published a cross-sector ranking of the most attractive employers in Germany at the beginning of April. Now, a specialized list for the financial sector follows. Financial companies assume key functions for the stability and functioning of the economy and play an important role in Germany's economic future – whether as investors, risk managers, insurers, or auditors.

The ranking shows which companies in this field offer their employees the best development prospects, according to the career network. Companies headquartered in Germany and employing at least 250 people in the country were included.

Ranking methodology takes eight factors into account

The employer ranking is based on LinkedIn data and includes eight factors that contribute to professional development:

  • Development opportunities,
  • Competence growth,
  • Corporate stability,
  • external job prospects,
  • Corporate affinity,
  • Gender distribution,
  • Educational level of employees and
  • Employer relevance in the country.

For development opportunities, employee promotions are considered – both within a company and when moving to a new position. Skills growth measures how employees develop during their employment using standardized skills information on LinkedIn.

The 10 best financial employers

Particularly striking is the strong representation of consulting-related companies in the ranking. Deutsche Bank is the only traditional bank to make it onto the list. This underscores the institution's efforts in the areas of employee development and professional career opportunities.
