Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland to cut opening hours at 757 branches from September

Several major high street bank branches will slash their opening hours this month.
Halifax, Lloyds, and the Bank of Scotland - all owned by the Lloyds Banking Group - will reduce operating times across all 757 branches from September 29. This means banking customers will have fewer opportunities during the working week to access in-person services.
Throughout weekdays, numerous branches will commence trading from 9am to 9.30am, with certain locations not opening their doors until 10am. Meanwhile, shutting times will be brought forward by approximately one hour on average for many of the impacted branches. They currently vary at different branches between 4.30pm and 5pm, but this will be brought forward to between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
A Lloyds spokesman commented: "We're changing our branch opening hours to make it simpler and more consistent for our customers. We offer more choice for everyday banking than ever before - alongside our apps, customers can visit any Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch, and use banking services at their local Post Office or Banking Hub."
A report from The Sun revealed that the delayed opening times will enable additional staff training whilst also guaranteeing enhanced wellbeing for employees.
Should the revised opening and closing hours mean you cannot reach your local Halifax, Lloyds, or Bank of Scotland branch, numerous alternatives remain available, the banks say. Various banking transactions can be completed at a Post Office outlet if their operating hours prove more suitable for you.
For instance, many of the 11,684 Post Office branches across the country offer money sending services. However, for tasks such as applying for a mortgage or loan, or opening a new account, a visit to a physical branch is necessary.
If you haven't done so already, it might be worth considering online banking. This can be accessed on any device with internet connectivity, including smartphones, computers, laptops, or tablets.
To double check if your local bank branch has been affected by the new changes, you can find your nearest branch at the following relevant bank locator. All you need to do is input your postcode or address:
