The pearl of the Bosphorus went for half price

The tender for the sale of Hotel Les Ottomans, one of the prominent structures on the Bosphorus, the sale of which has been a subject of debate and where objection cases are ongoing during the tender process, was completed yesterday. The winner of the tender, which was carried out digitally by open auction method, was BLG Varlık Yönetim, owned by Serdar Bilgili, who had previously taken over the debts, with a bid of 3.2 billion TL. The company noted that a price of 4.5 times the starting price of the tender was offered, while businessman Ünal Aysal announced that they will file a lawsuit for the cancellation of the sale.

4.5 TIMES OFFER

In a statement made by BLG Varlık Yönetim regarding the tender, it was stated that “The hotel known as Les Ottomans was tendered on behalf of our company for approximately 4.5 times the starting price of the tender, for 3,200,000,000 TL. As BLG Varlık Yönetim, we will continue to contribute to our country’s economy and manage the assets in our portfolio effectively with determination.” The structure subject to sale, formerly known as Muhsinzade Mehmet Pasha Mansion, was built on a total area of 4,527 square meters, with ruins dating back to the reign of Ahmet III, a fountain and garden sets. The mansion was most recently brought to the tourism sector by businessman Ünal Aysal.

Aysal: We will file an annulment case

Making an assessment of the tender, Unit Group Board Chairman Ünal Aysal said, “We were expecting this result. This was a swift operation. We will file a lawsuit against them to cancel the tender. Because there are many unlawful aspects. There are irregular and illegal transactions. If the courts see it, they will cancel it. We have another 4-5 month legal process ahead of us. We will file a lawsuit regarding the cancellation of the tender this week.”
