Minimum wage meeting date announced

The process for the new minimum wage, which will take effect in 2026, is beginning. The Tripartite Advisory Board, comprised of representatives from workers, employers, and the government, will meet on October 21 to evaluate the functioning of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security will reconvene the Tripartite Advisory Board, which convened on October 9th with the agenda of "Expanding Union Organization," this time with the agenda of the minimum wage.
At the meeting hosted by the ministry, the parties will exchange views on the structure and functioning of the commission ahead of the official minimum wage negotiations that will begin in December.
WORKERS' SIDE REACTS TO THE COMMISSION'S OPERATIONTÜRK-İŞ General President Ergün Atalay criticized the minimum wage figure that will be valid for 2025 at a press conference held on December 25, 2024, saying, "Unfortunately, we have remained in an unfair commission for 50 years. From now on, as TÜRK-İŞ, we will not participate in the Minimum Wage Determination Commission again unless a fair regulation is made."
HAK-İŞ General President Mahmut Arslan emphasized the need to change the structure of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission on October 27, 2025, and commented on the process of determining the minimum wage to be valid in 2026, saying, "We had another meeting with TÜRK-İŞ. They reconfirmed that they would not participate. I reiterated to them that we would not participate either."
HOW IS THE MINIMUM WAGE DETERMINED?The minimum wage is determined by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which consists of 15 people, including five representatives from each employee, employer, and government.
The commission meets on scheduled dates in December as part of its work on the new minimum wage.
The commission, chaired by one of the members designated by the Ministry, convenes with the participation of at least 10 members and announces its decision by majority vote. In the event of a tie, the party chaired is deemed to have the majority.
CURRENT MINIMUM WAGE IS 22,104The minimum wage for a worker is currently 26,050 liras 50 kuruş gross per month, and 22,104 liras 67 kuruş net after deductions.
The total cost of the minimum wage to employers for a worker is calculated as 30,621 lira and 48 kuruş. This includes 26,055 lira and 50 kuruş gross minimum wage, 4,095 lira and 87 kuruş social security premiums, and 520 lira and 11 kuruş employer unemployment insurance funds.
