He poisoned and murdered 4 people because he wanted to.

Brazil has been rocked by one of the most gruesome cases in recent years. Law student Ana Paula Veloso Fernandes, nicknamed the "angel-faced killer," was arrested on charges of poisoning four people in just five months. Furthermore, the young woman reportedly confessed to killing 10 dogs to test the effects of the poison before killing her victims.
FOUND ON A DATING APP It was revealed that 36-year-old Fernandes had mixed the poison into food and drinks and administered it to the victims he killed. According to a police report, the suspect displayed an extremely manipulative personality. He carefully selected his victims, some of whom he met through dating apps.
HE STARTED THE KILLING WITH HIS LANDLORD According to the investigation file, Fernandes' first murder occurred in the town of Guarulhos in January. After moving into the house and staying there for four days, the suspect poisoned his landlord, Marcelo Fonseco.
A second murder occurred in April . Fernandes invited Maria Aparecida Rodrigues, whom he met on a dating app, to his home and poisoned her coffee. Post-mortem investigations revealed that the suspect had written fake notes and even prepared a poisoned cake to frame his ex-girlfriend.
Police teams, furthering the investigation, determined that Fernandes' twin sister, Roberta Cristina Veloso Fernandes, and her friend, Michelle Paiva da Silva, also assisted in the murders. Both were taken into custody.
The third victim was Silva's own father. Silva allegedly paid Fernandes 4,000 Brazilian reais (approximately £540) to get rid of his father. Fernandes then killed him using the same method.
The latest victim was 21-year-old Tunisian Hayder Mhazres. Fernandes lied to Mhazres, with whom he had been dating for a short time, saying he was pregnant, and then killed her by mixing poison into her milkshake.
"THE IMPRINT TO KILL"
Police raided Fernandes's home and seized the banned pesticide he used in the murders. Sao Paulo Police Chief Halisson Ideiao stated that the young woman's motivation was solely "the urge to kill." "For Ana Paula, the motive wasn't important. She wanted to kill. This situation presents us with a classic psychopathic profile." The murders were determined to have taken place between January and May 2025 in the Guarulhos, Sao Paulo, and Duque de Caxias regions. The suspects have been arrested, and toxicology reports are awaited to confirm the victims' causes of death.
