BTK and Türk Telekom contribute $20 billion to the economy!

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the fixed services concession has been extended until 2050 through an agreement between the Information and Communication Technologies Authority and Türk Telekom. Minister Uraloğlu stated, "The agreement will directly contribute $20 billion to the national economy through fixed infrastructure and service investments throughout the concession period."
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Türk Telekom's fixed services privilege has been extended until 2050 with the agreement reached between the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) and Türk Telekom.
A $20 billion contribution to the economy will be provided
Uraloğlu stated that the fixed services infrastructure concession for Türkiye was finalized with great care and precision, adding, "The agreement will directly contribute $20 billion to the country's economy, along with the fixed infrastructure and service investments to be made throughout the specified concession period."
Uraloğlu emphasized that the renewal of the concession marks a new era in Türkiye's digital transformation, saying, "Within the scope of the agreement, a model has been created that will ensure the continuity of fixed infrastructure investments, which are critical to Türkiye's digitalization journey. The renewal of the concession will make a significant contribution to both the Turkish economy and our country's digitalization journey."

Minister Uraloğlu, noting that 25 percent of Türk Telekom's shares belong to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and 60 percent to the Turkey Wealth Fund, said, "Türk Telekom's fixed communication infrastructure is also Türkiye's infrastructure. Therefore, every investment Türk Telekom makes is a direct gain for Türkiye."
