An important Tauron company has a new CEO
Ireneusz Sawicki is a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Environmental Engineering, where he obtained a Master of Science in Engineering in 2006.
He also completed postgraduate studies at the University of Warsaw (Faculty of Management) in Corporate Financial Management.
He started his professional career at PGNiG (currently Orlen) and continued at Gaz-System, where he dealt with topics related to telemetry and measurements, IT systems in the field of gas transport, balancing issues and forecasting of the national transmission network.
In the years 2007-2022 he was associated with the trading company Handen and G.EN Gaz Energia, where he carried out tasks in the area of portfolio management and trading (energy and gas), wholesale and retail sales, financial management and planning, regulatory and legal issues, tariffs, as well as participating in strategic projects in the field of M&A and business development in the capital group.
In the years 2022-2025 he was a member of the management board of Polenergia Obrót and president of Polenergia Sprzedaż and was responsible for the commercialization of energy generated in onshore wind and photovoltaic farms, the development of PPA models and strategic negotiations with partners regarding RES assets.
TAURON is starting construction of a 54 MW photovoltaic farm in Bałków in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
He has one of the longest tenures in the PTWP Group among journalists. For years, he has been involved in the broadly understood energy and raw material markets, but he is no stranger to the secrets of other industries, which we write about on WNP.PL. In his free time, he collects publications on the Polish Brethren (called Arians), and has managed to gather one of the largest such collections in Poland. From time to time, he publicly shows the most interesting exhibits in museums and at various cultural and historical events.
