Mexican cartels , such as the Sinaloa and Jalisco Nueva Generación cartels, are reportedly using cryptocurrencies to purchase chemical precursors from Chinese companies to manufacture fentanyl in clandestine laboratories, revealed an analysis by the blockchain platform Chainalysis .
