Japan: Jan-Apr GDP -0.2%, annualized -0.7%

First contraction in four quarters for the Japanese economy, still looking for Responses from the Trump administration on trade deals, which have followed the imposition of tariffs and raised concerns about sustainability of exports. In the period from January to March, GDP decline is 0.2%, higher than forecast of minus 0.1%. On an annualized basis, the contraction is equal to at 0.7%, with the decline in external demand weighing on for 0.8% of the gross domestic product.
