Countdown to the XIV Congress of the Cisl FVG: Monticco towards the third mandate

Countdown to the XIV congress of the Cisl Friuli Venezia Giulia, scheduled in Trieste, on 19, 20 and 21 May . Under the slogan The courage of participation , the congress will see the re-candidacy of the current general secretary, Alberto Monticco, towards a third mandate.

In addition to the general secretary Daniela Fumarora and guests from all over Italy, 200 delegates are expected at the Generali Convention Center for a three-day event full of themes and insights.

“There will certainly be three assets characterizing our congress , and which will put us in contact with both the external world and the internal one of the Organization” – anticipates Monticco.

"On the first front - explains the outgoing secretary - we will hypothesize new forms of negotiation to be tested in the region, taking into account the challenges that await the world of production and the labor market, but also the new social structures, certainly much more fragile than in the past. We will aim, in particular, to think about a negotiation that we could define as having stringent principles , which involves, in its implementation, also the Fvg Region , for example with respect to contractual clauses to be included in the calls for tenders for the definition of contracts and subcontracts".

The second strong theme, instead, concerns the relationship and the rooting in the territory , also in this case not without taking into account the great changes of these years, demographic decline and depopulation of some areas, just to mention those with the highest impact. "It is clear - reasons Monticco - that services, protections, assistance must be rethought in some way, in a logic of testing new ties with people , but also by forming alliances with other associative worlds that operate in the territories and in favor of the communities".

Last but not least, the most internal theme of the Organization and which concerns, in particular, two key points on which Monticco is betting decisively: the generational change , but also the modernization of the apparatus. "On the one hand we need to enrich our structures and, in particular, the Federations, with new forces, with young people ready to face the union life, as operators and as managers. Young people that, in part, we have begun to train with a long course that ended recently and that saw 120 delegates involved in the workplace, 40 of whom have already been included in the new bodies that emerged from the territorial and Federation congresses. On the other hand, however, we certainly need to make our apparatus more flexible, less ritualized and above all faster in responding to the demands of a rapidly changing world of work".

The three-day program The congressional work of the Cisl Fvg will open on Monday 19th at 9 am with the introductory report of the outgoing general secretary, Alberto Monticco, followed by greetings from guests and authorities. At 12 pm there will be a press conference with the national secretary of the Cisl, Daniela Fumarola . At 2 pm, the green light will be given to the thematic focus “Poverty in the Northeast”, which will be attended by the general secretary of the CISL, Daniela Fumarola, the regional councilor, Alessia Rosolen and the president of Confindustria Alto Adriatico, Michelangelo Agrusti. Around 4:30 pm, the number one of the CISL, Daniela Fumarola, will close the first day of the congress.

On Tuesday 20 , the congress will resume at 9 am with the resumption of the debate, open to the interventions of the delegates. At 11 am a new thematic focus is planned, this time dedicated to the theme “Cisl Fvg and territory, the rules of change”, introduced by the presentation of an unpublished research commissioned by Cisl Fvg on the transformations of the assets of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The following will subsequently discuss, alongside the general secretary Alberto Monticco: Giovanna Ventura, president of the Caf Cisl Nazionale, Michela Vogrig, president of Legacoop Fvg. Dario Bruni, president of Ebiart Fvg and Graziano Tilatti, President of Confartigianato Fvg. In the afternoon, instead, there will be space for the debate that will end at 6:30 pm, with the conclusions of the national secretary, Andrea Cuccello.

Wednesday 21 , the third and final day of the congress, will see the election of the new general secretary and all the bodies of the Cisl Fvg. The intervention of the president of the Fvg Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, is expected at 12.30, while the conclusion of the works will be entrusted to the national secretary of the Cisl, Sauro Rossi.
