WATCH THE VIDEO REPORT. Between 2025 and 2029, Friuli Venezia Giulia will be forced to replace 75,400 workers, including over 40,000 private sector employees. This exodus will have a historic impact on the region's economic and social fabric, which is already struggling for businesses to find available staff for factories and construction sites. The problem isn't just about numbers, but also the average age of the workforce: in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the seniority rate is 73.6 percent, one of the highest in Northern Italy. This means that for every 100 young people under 35, there are over 70 workers over 55.
