Extreme heat and work: here are the thermometers at Electrolux in Forlì, the workers go home

Forlì, July 4, 2025 - Too hot . Today The workers at Electrolux in Forlì left their workplace early, before the end of their shift : at 12.15, instead of 5pm, due, the unions denounce, to severe heat stress .

A decision, it is underlined in a note, taken in self-protection of the health of the workers, followed closely by other departments, in a plant that has recorded peaks of almost 40 degrees .

According to Fiom-Cgil, the red flag for bioclimatic discomfort in the bulletin issued by Arpae and which has persisted for more than 10 days was completely ignored by the company, not by the workers.

"Health is not a priority for Electrolux", denounces RLS Fiom Cinzia Colaprico , highlighting the failure to adopt measures to lighten the workload, increase breaks or introduce strategies to mitigate the heat in the departments.

"The managers work in the cool, while those on the lines have to endure unbearable temperatures ."

Tensions had already emerged in the July 2 meeting between the company and workers' safety representatives.

On that occasion, the activation of a reduced timetable (6-14) had been requested to protect the staff during the most critical days, in particular the 4th of July.

A proposal also signed by the RLS Stavale (Ugl) and Colaprico (Fiom) and regularly verbalized, but remained without feedback from the management, which rejected every change, even for the departments at greater risk such as the enameling. The RLS therefore reported the situation to the competent authorities.
