BRICS Summit: Juan Ramón de la Fuente meets with foreign ministers from India, Chile, and Russia

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — On Monday, Mexican Foreign Secretary Juan Ramón de la Fuente Ramírez met with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar , who will soon visit Mexico to strengthen pharmaceutical and digital collaboration, as well as with the foreign ministers of Chile, Russia, and Thailand , during his participation in the BRICS summit in Brazil .

"As part of his working visit to Brazil, the foreign minister also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Brazil , Mauro Vieira , and India , Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who confirmed he will be in Mexico soon to consolidate investment projects in pharmaceutical products and digital technologies," Mexico's Foreign Ministry reported in a brief message on social media.

According to the Mexican Foreign Ministry, De la Fuente also held meetings with his Chilean counterpart, Alberto Van Klaveren ; Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov ; Thai counterpart, Jiraporn Sindhuprai ; and World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala .

Regarding the meeting between De la Fuente and Lavrov, the Russian Embassy in Mexico noted that "they discussed relevant issues of Russian-Mexican relations, including those related to the deepening of bilateral political dialogue, the expansion of cooperation in trade and economics, culture and the humanities, as well as the improvement of the legal and contractual framework."
