Any electoral reform that aims to strengthen the Republic must be built with the consensus of the entities: Maru Campos

- During the opening of the Presidential Commission's public hearing, the Governor indicated that the voice of Chihuahua and the people of Chihuahua must be heard.
Governor Maru Campos participated this Thursday in the start of the public hearing of the Presidential Commission for Electoral Reform, where she assured that any change in the matter that aspires to strengthen the Republic, must be built with the consensus of the federal entities.
“Today we reaffirm that federalist vocation and actively participate in the reflection on the electoral future of Mexico, with respect for the republican order but also with the firm conviction that the voice of Chihuahua must always be heard,” he emphasized.
He emphasized that most of the progress in the country's democratization process has come from the periphery to the center and from the bottom up, never as an imposition from the authoritarian center.
The hearing took place in the auditorium of the Semilla Museum, where the president indicated that the entities are indivisible foundations of the Republic, so when federal consensus accompanies the changes, the Mexican State is strengthened to consolidate a legitimate, inclusive and lasting transformation.
He mentioned that the State is and will continue to be an ally and leader of change that promotes the strengthening of the Republic, and therefore the necessary adjustments will be made to local electoral legislation to harmonize it with the reform.
The above, he said, is always within the framework of the configurative freedom recognized by article 116, as a possibility for each entity to adapt the rule to its citizen reality, with the understanding that democracy cannot be sustained without autonomous electoral authorities.
“Democracy is not defended with speeches, but with verifiable and reliable procedures,” said Maru Campos.
He added that the State will support modifications that strengthen oversight mechanisms and promote operational savings in institutions without sacrificing certainty or legal security, because freedom is preserved when power is distributed responsibly.
“From Chihuahua, we reiterate our commitment to unity and the strengthening of federalism. The future of Mexico demands solid institutions, real checks and balances, and a vibrant federalism where each state contributes its experience, character, and vision,” he concluded.
For his part, Lázaro Cárdenas Batel, head of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, thanked the head of the Executive Branch for recognizing the importance of this space, whose objective is to work on building a reform that updates the system and strengthens democracy, with a broad exercise of citizen participation.
