Previously Frankfurter Bankgesellschaft: Dekabank brings in Head of Wealth Management

Dirk van den Berg will become Head of Wealth Management at Dekabank effective October 1, 2025. The 58-year-old will report to Hussam Masri, Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management.

Van den Berg brings decades of experience in the financial industry, including 13 years with the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe (Sparkassen Finance Group). Most recently, he served as a member of the board of the family office at Frankfurter Bankgesellschaft. Van den Berg left his position there for personal reasons. According to his LinkedIn profile, other career milestones included Lampe Vermögenstreuhand, Flossbach von Storch , and Oppenheim Vermögenstreuhand.
With the "Deka Private & Wealth" brand, Dekabank has positioned itself as the central provider of private banking and wealth management solutions within the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe (Sparkassen Financial Group). In summer 2022, the securities firm of the Sparkassen announced plans to significantly expand this division and now manages over €57 billion.
