Health Minister against full long-term care insurance

Berlin – Federal Health Minister Nina Warken (CDU) has rejected calls for expanding long-term care insurance to a full insurance plan. "I do not support ideas for expanding long-term care insurance to a full insurance plan," she told the newspapers of the "Neue Berliner Redaktionsgesellschaft" and the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" and the "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" (Saturday editions). Trade unions, social associations, and even the CSU (Christian Social Union) have repeatedly called for full insurance. Since its introduction in 1995, long-term care insurance has been a partial insurance plan, covering only a portion of costs. However, the health minister expressed openness to the idea of her coalition partner, the SPD, to cap the costs of nursing home residents, thus limiting monthly co-payments to a fixed amount. This is currently being discussed in the federal-state commission "Future Pact for Care," which is expected to present its findings by the end of the year. She is "very excited" about this, Warken said. "I am open to the idea if it can be implemented."

Epic gold price rally
The price of gold has surpassed a new record high. The $3,500 mark has fallen, and even $4,000 now appears only an interim target. The rally is being driven by several factors simultaneously:
- · massive purchases by central banks
- Capital flight to safe havens
- · high demand for physically backed gold ETFs
- · geopolitical uncertainty and inflation concerns
