Best savings accounts and Cash ISAs for May paying up to 7.5% interest

Savers must act quickly to secure higher interest rates as returns continue to fall. Research from Moneyfactscompare shows a downward trend in savings rates following the Bank of England’s base rate cut in February, with easy access accounts now averaging 2.78%.
However, some providers are still offering up to 7.5% on savings accounts and up to 5.71% on Cash ISAs, though many savers are missing out. New research from Spring, a savings app owned by Paragon Bank, estimates that Britons are missing out on £20billion in lost interest every year, with £526billion sitting idle in current and low-interest savings accounts. Rachel Springall, finance expert at Moneyfactscompare.co.uk, said: “There are unfortunately some savers keeping their hard-earned cash in a current or savings account that pays poor returns and is eaten away by inflation. However, this money could work so much harder if consumers just take a little time out of their day to open an easy access account that pays better returns, which is quick and easy to do.”
Here is a list of the savings accounts offering the highest interest rates at the time of writing, according to Moneyfacts data.
