FIRST THING IS THE CONSTITUTION
The new parliament's first task will be to draft a new electoral law and constitution. Sunni candidates win in the Alevis city of Latakia
In Assad's former stronghold, Latakia, which has a predominantly Alawite population, three Sunnis were elected to parliament.
