Mahmut Tanal alleges academic theft and forged signatures against former AKP deputy

In a statement on his social media account, Mahmut Tanal shared with the public the allegations regarding the period when Abdülkerim Gök, a former AKP Şanlıurfa Deputy and currently serving in the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, was a faculty member at Harran University.
Tanal stated that Gök published articles, theses, and seminars belonging to others as his own, without citing sources, and that investigation documents allege forged signatures. He continued , "The documents clearly reveal which theses and articles were cited, with the phrases 'Copied work: . . ' The academic stated, 'The signature on the documents is not mine.'"
He asked the following questions to Harran University and YÖK:
"If these allegations are not true, with what documents will you refute them?
If it is true, why wasn't a criminal complaint filed with the prosecutor's office?
Why was no legal action initiated when there was a forged signature allegation?
Has the file been submitted to YÖK in full?
Have Abdülkerim Gök's academic titles—associate professorship, professorship—been reexamined?
Tanal emphasized that if the allegations are true, there is a fake title, forged documents and academic theft, and that these are not only disciplinary offenses but also crimes that must be investigated ex officio according to the Turkish Penal Code.
