Halkbank's asset size increased to 3 trillion lira

Halkbank increased its asset size by 37 percent to 3 trillion lira by the end of 2024.
According to the statement made by the bank, Halkbank announced its financial results for the last quarter of 2024. The bank, which increased its asset size by 37 percent to 3 trillion lira at the end of 2024 compared to the end of 2023, increased its total loan size by 21 percent to 2.3 trillion lira during this period.
While Halkbank's total deposits increased by 27 percent compared to the end of the previous year and reached 2.4 trillion lira in the last quarter of 2024, the bank's equity capital increased by 19 percent in this period and reached 152.6 billion lira.
Halkbank General Manager Osman Arslan, whose views were included in the statement, stated that a volatile year in which monetary policies and geopolitical developments were decisive in the global economy was left behind with a process in which the country's economic resilience increased, macrofinancial stability strengthened and external fragilities decreased.
Arslan said, "During this period, while the disinflation process continued, the decreasing trend in the Currency Protected Deposit (CCD) balance strengthened, the reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) reached record levels, our credit risk premium (CDS) fell below 250 basis points for the first time since February 2020, and in this process, our exports increased by 2.4 percent compared to the end of 2023, reaching 262 billion dollars."
Arslan stated that the current account deficit improved beyond expectations in 2024 and the decrease in external financing needs supported the rebalancing process in the Turkish economy, and that the successful steps taken by the economy administration within the framework of the Medium Term Program (MTP) and the 12th Development Plan played a major role in these achievements.

By the end of 2024, the share of tradesmen loans in SME loans was 37 percent, the number of tradesmen with loans reached 802 thousand and our tradesmen loan size increased by 13 percent compared to the end of 2023, reaching 266 billion liras. While the share of SME loans in our commercial cash loans was 57 percent, we continued to be the sector leader in SME loans with our SME loans reaching 728 billion liras and our market share of 16 percent."
"We provided a total of 82 billion liras of financial support to 250 thousand women entrepreneurs"Sharing the work and support provided by Halkbank in line with its vision of strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem, Arslan said, "With the Women Entrepreneurs Loan Support Package, we have provided a total of 82 billion liras of financing support to approximately 250 thousand women entrepreneurs since 2021. We continue to be the leader in this field by providing approximately 40 percent of the loans used by women entrepreneurs on our own."
Arslan stated that they also contributed to the training and branding processes for women to have a stronger place in business life and announced that they held the final of the Productive Women Competition, which they organized for the fourth time, and presented the awards to the entrepreneurial women.
Arslan emphasized that in addition to the support Halkbank provides to women entrepreneurs, it has reached 193 thousand entrepreneurs and provided a total of 29 billion liras of credit support since 2021, and underlined that they not only provide financial support to young people to realize their dreams, but also see it as a responsibility to be by their side with information, guidance and motivation.
