FED interest rate decision July meeting dates: Will the US Federal Reserve (FED) cut interest rates?

The US Federal Reserve will make its interest rate decision for June at the MPC meeting on July 29-30. The interest rate decision will be announced on the evening of July 30.

Last month, it was reported that the target range for the federal funds rate would be kept between 4.25% and 4.50% in order to support the bank's targets.

Powell spoke at the ECB Central Banking Forum and answered questions. Powell stated that the impact of the tariffs has not yet been seen very much and that they expect higher inflation data throughout the summer. Chairman Powell, who signaled that the Fed would have lowered interest rates more if there were no tariffs, noted that they started waiting when they saw the magnitude of the tariffs and when inflation expectations increased as a result of the tariffs. "As long as the US economy is in a solid structure, we think the most prudent thing to do is to wait, get more information and see what those effects might be. Those effects haven't emerged yet, so we're waiting for now." Powell also stated that the majority of Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) members think it would be appropriate to start cutting interest rates again later in the year, and said they will monitor data on inflation and the labor market.
