CHP membership suspended! First reaction from the imprisoned Manavgat Mayor

During operations against CHP-run municipalities, images of money inside a baklava box were seen being served at Manavgat Municipality. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in a statement regarding the images, said, "It's not encouraging." The CHP suspended the party membership of the arrested Manavgat Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara for his involvement in "determining the municipal council member list." Kara released a statement regarding his suspension. Kara said, "My membership in the Republican People's Party (CHP) started when I was a little kid, writing 'Ecevit' and drawing 'six arrows' on walls."
"A GENERAL REFLEX"Regarding the Central Executive Committee's decision to suspend my party membership on the grounds of "having an involvement in determining the municipal council member list," Kara commented, "I see this as a general reaction by my party's senior management, who are attempting to undermine me through planned perception management operations. Likewise, we have experienced for generations in our political history that extraordinary periods bring about extraordinary decisions."
The statement included the following statements:
The Republican People's Party is my family. When the trial concludes tomorrow and our vindication is established, we will continue where we left off as children of the Republican People's Party, embracing its clean political approach.
The process we are going through has resulted in a major setback for those who, through slander and lies, dreamed of "discrediting the CHP and Niyazi Nefi Kara and seizing control of the municipality." We stand tall, stronger than ever. I love you very much. With my love and respect.
