According to TÜİK, unemployment has increased

The unemployment rate increased by 0.6 points to 8.6 percent in April.

According to the April results of the Household Labor Force Survey of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the number of unemployed people aged 15 and over increased by 203 thousand people compared to the previous month, reaching 3 million 63 thousand people.

The unemployment rate is 7.1 percent for men and 11.5 percent for women.

The number of employed people decreased by 316 thousand people in April compared to the previous month, reaching 32 million 359 thousand people, while the employment rate decreased by 0.5 points to 48.8 percent.

This rate is 65.8 percent for men and 32.2 percent for women.

The unemployment rate among the youth population aged 15-24 increased by 0.4 points compared to the previous month, reaching 15.7 percent. The unemployment rate for men in this age group is 11.2 percent and for women it is 23.7 percent.
