Muscovites shared what they need for a comfortable life: opinions were divided.

The Moscow district with the highest quality of life, according to residents, has been named.
Muscovites rate their quality of life above the Russian average—3.6 points on a five-point scale. However, this figure is an average, as it varies greatly by neighborhood. Analysts conducted a study to determine what influences the well-being of residents of the Russian capital.

"The most satisfied residents live in the Central and Southwestern administrative districts of Moscow. The Presnensky district led in comfort: almost half of its residents rated it "excellent," while another 12.5% rated it "good," said Alexander Gutorov, vice president of the Strana Development group of companies. According to the expert, assessments of quality of life in a metropolis depend not only on external conditions but also on the personal perceptions of residents.
Muscovites' sense of well-being is most influenced by comfortable housing (52%) and safety (49%). Accessibility to social amenities such as schools, clinics, and sports centers is important to a third of city residents. Transportation infrastructure was a priority for 23.5%.
When considering the essential components for inner happiness, one in four Muscovites ranked material security as their top priority. By comparison, creative self-fulfillment and the well-being of loved ones are a priority for one in six.
Having your own apartment and a successful career are secondary, but not by much. It turns out that for Muscovites, a "quality life" isn't just about money or status. It's more about striking a balance: having enough money for the essentials while still having time for family and yourself.
Yet, even with positive assessments, residents of the capital's metropolis still have unfulfilled dreams on their wish lists for this year. One in five Moscow residents was unable to go on vacation or travel in 2025. One in six postponed their home purchase. And more than half of Muscovites admitted that they haven't made any wishes at all lately.
