Wall Street kicks off the session with only the Nasdaq in negative territory

The New York Stock Exchange opened trading this Wednesday mixed, with only the Nasdaq in negative territory.
Thus, the Dow Jones added 0.56% to 46,014.73 points, the S&P 500 gained 0.04% to 6,609.88 points, and the technological Nasdaq lost 0.34% to 22,256.87 points.
According to Millenium market analyst Ramiro Loureiro, "Wall Street is starting with apparent calm, on a day when investors are eagerly awaiting the Fed's monetary policy decisions, which will be released at 7 p.m. in Lisbon."
"A 25 basis point interest rate cut is expected, but there is a faint hope that it could reach 50 basis points. This is at a time when the main US stock indexes are at all-time highs, so any less favorable signal could lead to capital gains," he emphasized.
In the corporate world, the expert highlighted that "Workday is driven by Elliott's optimism and upgrades. Netflix was also upgraded. Lyft is excited about a partnership with Google's autonomous driving unit. Duolingo, meanwhile, is backing down in response to news that it is being investigated by the Hungarian regulator."
