Taxis return to Bolt in mainland Portugal

Taxis return to Bolt in mainland Portugal

Bolt users in mainland Portugal will once again have the option of calling taxis through the app. The feature, already available in Madeira, will be rolled out to mainland Portugal this Monday, starting in Porto. It is expected to expand to other regions throughout the third quarter.

With this integration, the mobility platform hopes to reduce waiting times, especially during peak hours, and improve service efficiency.

Bolt now offers the choice between TVDE (Transport in Unmarked Vehicles) and taxis in a single application. The user decides based on preferences and availability.

The company's goal is to contribute to “more dynamic cities, with fewer private cars” and with integrated transport solutions.

Bolt has been operating in Portugal since 2018, with TVDE service in practically the entire territory. In the area of micromobility, with electric scooters and bicycles, it is already present in 18 Portuguese cities.
