The State's tax revenue increased by 11% until April, to 17.41 billion euros, driven by VAT and IRS, according to budget execution data released today by the Directorate-General for the Budget (DGO).

“In April 2025, the accumulated tax revenue of the State subsector totaled 17,410 million euros. This value represented an increase of 1,729.5 million euros (+11%) compared to the same period last year”, says the DGO.

This increase is explained by the increase in revenue of 548.5 million euros from direct taxes, based mainly on IRS, and by the year-on-year increase of 1,181 million euros from indirect taxes.
