Petrobras announces new voluntary redundancy plan; find out how many could be laid off.

Petrobras has approved a voluntary redundancy plan (PDV) that could include up to 1,100 company employees. The measure was approved by the state-owned company's Board of Directors and announced this Monday (3). According to the company, enrollment in the program should take place throughout 2026.
According to Petrobras, as reported by Agência Brasil, the voluntary dismissal program (PDV) will be aimed at workers who had already retired through the INSS (Brazilian National Social Security Institute) before the enactment of the Pension Reform (Constitutional Amendment 103/2019) on November 12, 2019. This amendment modified the pension system and created new transition rules for retirement.
The state-owned company highlighted that the Voluntary Severance Program aims to offer retirees "an opportunity for career transition," in addition to contributing to the gradual renewal of the workforce.
In its statement to the market, Petrobras did not disclose the estimated value of the program, but emphasized that the financial impact will be recognized in the financial statements as the participants are registered.
Currently, Petrobras has 41,700 employees on its staff.
