Senate establishes protocol for swearing-in of members of the Judiciary

MEXICO CITY (apro) .- The Senate of the Republic approved the Agreement that establishes the procedure for the swearing-in of the judges elected in the Extraordinary Federal Electoral Process 2024-2025, on September 1.
The Agreement specifies that the oath of office of the justices of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), the judge of the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch (TEPJF), and the judges of the regional chambers of the TEPJF will be taken in the Senate Session Hall.
In addition to the judges of the Judicial Disciplinary Tribunal (TDJ), the Circuit and District judges were elected in the electoral process on June 1.
The document details that the swearing-in will take place as follows on September 1:
The swearing-in of the SCJN ministers, the judges of the Superior Chamber of the TEPJF, and the judges of the regional chambers of the TEPJF will take place at 7:30 p.m.
The swearing-in of the judges of the TDJ will take place at 8:00 p.m., and of the judges of the Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Circuits at 8:30 p.m.
The judges of the Tenth, Eleventh, Twelfth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth, Sixteenth, Seventeenth, Eighteenth, Nineteenth, and Twentieth Circuits will be sworn in at 9:00 p.m.
The swearing-in of the judges of the Twenty-First, Twenty-Second, Twenty-Third, Twenty-Fourth, Twenty-Fifth, Twenty-Sixth, Twenty-Seventh, Twenty-Eighth, Twenty-Ninth, Thirtieth, Thirty-First and Thirty-Second Circuits will take place at 9:30 p.m.
At 10:00 p.m., the judges of the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Circuits will be sworn in. At 10:30 p.m., the judges of the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, Twelfth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Circuits will be sworn in.
And at 11:00 p.m., the judges of the Sixteenth, Seventeenth, Eighteenth, Nineteenth, Twentieth, Twenty-first, Twenty-second, Twenty-third, Twenty-fourth, Twenty-fifth, Twenty-sixth, Twenty-seventh, Twenty-eighth, Twenty-ninth, Thirtieth, Thirty-first, and Thirty-second Circuits will be sworn in.
The Agreement details that the resolution approved by the Senate of the Republic on various measures related to the swearing-in of judges elected in the 2024-2025 Extraordinary Federal Electoral Process was also published in the Parliamentary Gazette.
As well as the documents that the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) will have to send, such as a list to be sent within two business days of issuing the declaration of validity of the respective election.
The request from the Superior Chamber of the TEPJF has already been sent to the SCJN for a list of the majority certificates that have been revoked, which will be sent once the corresponding judicial resolution is issued.
In addition to the request to the INE General Council, the results of the counts for each election of the judges will be sent, allowing us to determine the votes received for each candidate for their respective positions.
This information will be sent to the Senate electronically within five business days of your request, so that this legislative body, where appropriate, may comply with the provisions of the final section of Article 231 of the Organic Law of the Judicial Branch of the Federation.
Finally, the Agreement details that, based on the lists issued by the aforementioned electoral authorities, the Senate of the Republic will accredit the elected judges, and then summon them to take the oath of office.
