Processing costs at tax collection agencies rise

The Chamber of Deputies approved the reforms to the Federal Fees Law, which will increase various fees and rates for public services starting in 2026. The resolution was approved with 355 votes in favor and 132 against.
According to the bill, the changes seek to ensure better use of public property and increase federal revenue by 157.82 billion pesos.
Among the most significant adjustments is an increase of up to 100% in immigration fees for visitors without work permits, temporary and permanent residents. However, a 50% discount will be applied for humanitarian reasons, such as family reunification or cultural invitations.
Admission prices will also be raised to museums, archaeological sites, and zones managed by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) in order to strengthen the dissemination of cultural heritage.
The amendments include increases in fees for health, aeronautical, phytosanitary, and zoosanitary services, as well as new fees for authorizations for non-scheduled vessels and flights, and medical permits for minors traveling abroad. Aircraft used for civil protection and air ambulances will be exempt.
In addition, fees for the use of radio spectrum will be increased , with the argument that the funds will allow for expanded telecommunications and broadcasting coverage in communities without access.
Finally, the National Banking and Securities Commission's financial inspection and surveillance fees applicable to banks, investment funds, brokerage firms, and other financial institutions are being updated.
