Claudia Valle and Gilberto de Guzmán would be part of the Superior Chamber at TEPJF

With more than 99% of the votes counted, Claudia Valle Aguilasocho and Gilberto de Guzmán Bátiz García are poised to become the next judges to serve on the Superior Chamber of the Federal Electoral Tribunal (TEPJF).
During the recent elections on June 1, in addition to the new members of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), citizens had the task of electing the two remaining members of the Superior Chamber of the TEPJF, as well as the 15 electoral magistrates who will make up the five Regional Chambers.
With almost all the polling stations in the electoral process counted, and with more than 4 million votes (15.9% of the vote), Claudia Valle Aguilasocho is poised to fill the vacancy reserved for a woman in the Superior Chamber.
Valle Aguilasocho, who is currently the presiding judge of the Monterrey Regional Chamber, stands out as the only candidate for magistrate nominated by the three branches of the Union for Sunday's election.
In addition to being called in July 2024 to temporarily join the Superior Chamber to participate in the qualification and validation process for the 2024 presidential election, which was won by Claudia Sheinbaum.
While Bátiz García, with more than 4.6 million votes (18% of the vote), would fill the vacancy reserved for a man in the highest electoral authority.
Bátiz García currently serves as an electoral magistrate for the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Chiapas, and was elected to the Judiciary through a nomination by the Executive Branch.
