Philip Morris Italy, Daniela Della Monica new head of smoke-free products category

He has twenty years of commercial and strategic experience in the consumer goods, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors.
Philip Morris Italy has announced the appointment of Daniela Della Monica as Head of Smoke-Free Products Category. She will lead marketing activities for the smoke-free products category, replacing Gianluca Iannelli, who has been promoted to Global Head of Multicategory Brand Strategy at Philip Morris International. Daniela Della Monica has twenty years of commercial and strategic experience in the consumer goods, pharmaceutical, and medical devices industries. She has held leadership roles at the local, regional, and global levels, achieving significant results in complex and highly competitive environments. Until June 2025, she served as Vice President of Ethics EMEA at Johnson & Johnson MedTech. Previously, she worked at Novartis as Head of Global Pharma Strategy and as Head of the Immunology, Hepatology & Dermatology division in Italy. Her career also includes senior roles at Allergan, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Procter & Gamble.

Gianluca Iannelli has been appointed Global Head of Multi-Category Brand Strategy. He will join the Philip Morris International global team in Lausanne, effective September 1, 2025. In his new role, he will be responsible for defining multi-category marketing strategies for smoke-free products globally, while ensuring the Group's approach to brand building is consistent across all activities, from concept to execution in different countries. Gianluca Iannelli's journey at Philip Morris began in 2020 as Head of Marketing & Digital for Philip Morris Italy. After three years in the role, he assumed responsibility for the smoke-free products category, successfully leading the expansion of the various product categories throughout Italy. During his tenure, Iqos became the reference brand for heated tobacco products. Additionally, Iannelli led the shift to a multi-category strategy with the launch of the Veev brands in the e-cigarette category and Zyn in the nicotine pouches category.
