Callari: Region joins AI project

Callari: Region joins AI project
2

We have decided to join an important multi-regional project that develops combinations between artificial intelligence and the ability to virtually represent single objects but also physical systems or complex processes, known as 'digital twin', which has the interesting specificity of being updated in real time".

The Councilor for Information Systems Sebastiano Callari describes the Regional Council's decision to join “Reg4AI_Ter” as follows.

“In Friuli Venezia Giulia – explains Callari – we will be involved in the creation of some pilot cases in the field of workplace safety, the feasibility of new quantum connections between partner regions and the use of the so-called 'fiber sensing', the technology that uses fiber optic cables to measure physical quantities along their entire length, transforming the cable itself into a sensor”.

“This is an initiative – adds the councilor – that Tuscany, as leader, is carrying forward together with Emilia-Romagna and Sardinia to optimize policies of resilience, reaction to climatic events, safety on construction sites or smart buildings, structures that use advanced technologies and interconnected systems to optimize energy efficiency, improve occupant comfort and simplify management operations”.

“Funded thanks to a total investment of almost 3 million and 700 thousand euros from the National Department for Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, this project foresees that artificial intelligence and the representation defined as digital twin can also be declined at a regional level, experimenting – concludes Callari – with new technologies based on 5G and quantum communications”.
