September 10: Why they're going to block everything


"François Bayrou's budget proposal was nothing but savings at the expense of the working world : elimination of public holidays, attacks on health, the so-called privileged "boomers" singled out... It is not up to the working world to pay the debt. The wealth of the richest has continued to grow, the shareholders are getting richer and richer: it is up to them to pay! We teachers are not alone, with the deterioration of our working conditions, our salaries which have stagnated for years with the freezing of the index point ...
We work with the children of those who are struggling at the end of the month, unemployed: we can clearly see that when we attack the parents, we also attack the children. We must face it together. Today, I will not strike because it is Wednesday, but I will go to the rally planned here in Chartres. This movement, we don't really know where it comes from. I am a member of the FSU-Snuipp union, but I have no problem with it coming from outside the unions and political movements.
I participated in the yellow vest movement. People are right to be angry! Yes, we must block the country to be able to get our hands on the money of the richest . When we talk around us, we see that people are ready to mobilize. The coming days will be important. Bayrou is no longer here, but we must not wait to see what will happen after that.

"Austerity is in the budgets that the Bayrou government and others before it are pushing through. But we're also experiencing it at work. Last year, the SNCF Réseau subsidiary achieved productivity gains equivalent to cutting 1,000 jobs. Their goal is for us all to be at 130% of our jobs, and then cut staff numbers during reorganizations that now occur every six months.
But the SNCF is a chain of small hands. From the driver to the sales representative, from maintenance...
