In its latest report, the Pensions Advisory Council recommends a gradual increase in the retirement age. Thus, in 2030, the retirement age will be 64.3 years, and by 2070, the retirement age will be 66.5 years.

Working even later and pushing back the retirement age... That's the recommendation of the latest report from the Pensions Advisory Council. Not enough to get the French excited. "I'm a cleaner and a canteen supervisor, I can't see myself working until I'm 66 and a half," says one of them.

The report also indicates that under the current system, the deficit would double within five years, reaching €6.6 billion. The only possible solution without slowing the French economy is to gradually raise the retirement age: 64.3 years in 2030, then 65.9 years in 2045, and finally 66.5 years in 2070.
