When delays don't come from airlines or controllers, they are directly caused by passengers themselves. On Tuesday, August 12, a fight broke out on a Ryanair flight over a crying child on board. Flight FR1882 first took off from London Stansted to Lisbon , Portugal, after two and a half hours in the air. Upon arrival, tensions rose between two passengers after landing, as the plane taxied on the tarmac.
According to the Portuguese newspaper SIC Noticias , the incident allegedly began when a child started crying during the flight. In a video relayed by our colleagues, the passengers are standing inside the plane, amidst the screams. Due to the altercation, the travelers had to wait about an hour inside the plane, which landed at Lisbon airport. Last June, a Ryanair spokesperson announced the introduction of a £500 fine "which will be imposed on any passenger who is deplaned due to misconduct." This fine can now be charged directly to the card used to pay for the booking or deducted from any Ryanair vouchers the passenger may have. The aim is to "ensure that our passengers and crew travel in a comfortable and stress-free environment," the airline said.
