Parliament approved the appointment of Bernard Fontana as head of EDF on Wednesday. This relatively discreet graduate of the École Polytechnique succeeds Luc Rémont at the helm of the French energy giant, where several explosive issues await him.
As recently as early March, no one would have expected him to hold such a position. But now it's (almost) official: at 64, Bernard Fontana will become the new CEO of EDF.
