There are not "just" fifty exhibitors, but rather fifty glass artists who light up the eyes along with their torches for four days at the Octroi. The 8th edition of the Flame'Off confirms that Nancy will be a force to be reckoned with in the glass landscape in France, more than ever. And elsewhere!

They have their heads so "down in the handlebars" that they would be quite incapable of answering: "Beautiful things? Oh, certainly there are. But we're not really lucid enough to judge them anymore." Théophile Caille smiles. On the 2nd day of the show, he and his co-organizer Frédéric Demoisson have just finished with the technical problems. Which are not uncommon when you bring together glassmakers from all over the world. "Simple" unforeseen events, like: gas cylinder connections are not necessarily the same in France and Poland, Portugal, Russia, or Japan... But that's it! All the blowtorches are spitting their flames under the glass roofs of the Grande Halle de l'Octroi. And all around are the hands of master glassmakers who excel enough in their art to have been selected for the 8th edition of the Flame'Off.
