L'Abergement-de-Varey. The Toketa third-place inaugurated: artist residencies planned

The Toketa space was inaugurated this Saturday, July 5. This third-place, whose creation project was led by Sandrine Vitte, Clément Vincent, and Christelle Hot, aims to promote local entrepreneurship, experimentation and creation, conviviality, and diversity. Toketa is a grocery store, a bakery, an artistic space, a bakery, and a soap factory. "This project combines different aspects in the same location. Nurturing activities from short and/or organic supply chains with the creation of the village's first business. It is important to emphasize that the grocery store would not have been possible without the support of many village residents and artisans who participated in the participatory projects," explained the project leaders.

At the inauguration, Michèle Delorme, First Deputy Mayor, recalled the genesis of the site: “In April 2024, Max Orset, our late former mayor, and I welcomed Christelle and Sandrine to talk to us about a “third place.” We found the project interesting and were enthusiastic. Today we are inaugurating it, but without Max. The grocery store and bakery are already operating and attract queues on opening days. Artist residencies are planned, and Julie’s pottery workshop is doing very well.”
