Who got rid of Anne-Sophie Lapix? At the end of May, the presenter of France 2's 8 p.m. news was fired by France Télévisions CEO Delphine Ernotte and replaced by Léa Salamé. The decision sparked a backlash: in eight years on the news, Lapix has often been criticized by political leaders. Media historian Christian Delporte describes "the difficult relationship between Emmanuel Macron and Anne-Sophie Lapix. And as elections approach, the most troublesome journalists are often sidelined." In March 2020, an interview with Edouard Philippe conducted by the journalist was reportedly deemed too offensive by the Élysée Palace.
