Electric cars: why Tesla sales are collapsing in Europe

ANALYSIS - The American manufacturer posted a 45.2% drop in sales on the old continent in January.
Tesla is no longer popular on the old continent. The shares of the electric vehicle pioneer fell by more than 8% this Tuesday in New York, weighed down by the announcement of sales halved in Europe. With only 7,517 vehicles registered in January 2025 compared to more than 15,000 last January, the manufacturer shows a 45.2% drop in its sales. The lack of love is particularly visible in Germany (-59.5%), France (-63.4%) and Spain (-75.4%). Enough to record a decrease in Tesla's market share on this side of the Atlantic, going from 1.8% to 1%.
