In France, except in the southwest and Corsica, temperatures have dropped after a heatwave. But if the mercury rises again, wool clothing may be a must; indeed, it doesn't necessarily make you feel warm, quite the opposite.

Knit your own sweater, scarf, or gloves. In winter, wool can truly be your best ally in facing icy temperatures. But why not also in summer to combat the heat? In a Parisian sports store, an entire rack is dedicated to woolen summer clothing. A young retiree comes to update his wardrobe. He chooses a merino wool T-shirt. Ultra-lightweight equipment, practical in a hiking backpack, which is becoming increasingly popular.

"There is an antibacterial aspect that prevents sweat odor, a natural anti-UV property that protects against the sun, and a slight thermoregulatory aspect," explained François Nollet, store manager. Not all sportswear has yet adopted wool. Jean-Charles Giorgi, founder of the "Ogarun" brand, sensed that a market was opening up. In 2019, he launched a clothing brand made almost entirely from merino wool.
