Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. 2 million visitors in 2025: industrial tourism is booming

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region's "Business and Discovery" observatory has just published figures for know-how tourism and company visits in the region in 2025. The number of visitors stands at 2 million, visiting more than 460 companies, 92% of which are SMEs. These statistics demonstrate the importance this form of tourism has taken on in recent years.
Many regional businesses offer tours of their premises, benefiting from spin-offs in several areas. Firstly, economic and commercial, the most visited small and medium-sized businesses, such as the Cité de la Chaussure in Romans-sur-Isère (26), generate up to 20% of their turnover through this channel.
Communication, another important issue for businesses, helps reassure consumers by highlighting their local character.
Finally, the Region wishes to promote the attractiveness of the professions, by making these visits a privileged discovery tool for the youngest. The Brochier Soieries printing workshop in Lyon (69) fits perfectly with this approach.
